We need your help to hold our government to account on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and Girls everywhere!

This year, the United Nations is completing the Beijing+25 review. The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995) is a global action plan to achieve gender equality and it turns 25 years old in 2020. Training for Women Network (TWN) achieved Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (UNECE) in 2012 and we are pleased to be a member of the Civil Society Forum working group for the Beijing+25 UN Economic Commission for Europe regional review which will be held in October 2019. This is an important opportunity for Civil Society Organisations to engage directly with governments and have our voices heard.

To strengthen the advocacy, we are asking organisations to answer the questions below related to 3 different themes. By completing these survey questions, you are helping ensure that our one page summary fact sheet and recommendations are an accurate representation of the many and diverse aspects of achieving gender equality throughout the UNECE region and contributing to a historic celebration of women’s rights around the world.

Please complete the surveys relevant to your area of work by 28th August in order to ensure that Northern Ireland’s perspective is well represented. Additionally, please feel free to share the surveys with your contacts within the UNECE Region (which is inclusive of Northern America, Central Asia and parts of Western Asia).
