The Department of Health has launched a consultation into the reform of adult social care in Northern Ireland.
Adult social care is a vital part of the health and social care system and impacts on the lives of people across society including people who use social care services, family carers and the people who work in social care. The pandemic has shone a light on the invaluable role social care plays in people’s lives and the wellbeing of society. It has also revealed the many challenges faced in the provision of adult social care and the need to reform the social care system. The Department recognises that longer term and transformational change is needed to sustain the essential services adult social care provides to people in need and to those who care for them.
The deadline for responses to this consultation is Wednesday 18th May 2022 and it is available here
