Following the Secretary of State’s Budget 2023-24 the Department of Education has issued a consultation on its Budget 2023-24 Equality Impact Assessment. This EQIA outlines a series of proposed cuts to the Department’s Budget including to the Holiday Hunger Scheme, Extended Schools programme and Digital Devices Scheme. Research by the Consortium has highlighted the impacts of reductions in funding to help with school costs and the need for greater support with education costs, including school uniforms and dinners, in this Cost-of-Living Crisis. Siobhán will be making a short response to this consultation endorsing the Women’s Policy Group more detailed response.
The consultation is available on the DE website and has a closing date of 13th August
