NIRWN along with sector colleagues recently met with the AERA (Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs) Committee at Discover CAFRE at Loughry, Cookstown.
It is so important that Committees, and decision makers in general, move outside of Stormont estate and are accessible but also that they see where we work and live. It was great to have the opportunity to update members on all things rural women and the challenges and opportunities in front of us to develop a fit for purpose Rural Policy that delivers for #rural #women.
The link to the recording to hear what we shared on our members behalf is:https://aims.niassembly.gov.uk/officialreport/minutesofevidencereport.aspx?AgendaId=34243&eveID=17333
Gender Equality needs to be embedded in future delivery and DAERA, through rural development programming have always showcased the best of what we are capable of in rural areas; now we need to mainstream it.
