WOMEN’STEC and #NotJustForBoys were delighted to take part in another Heritage Skills Joinery.
Taster Day, hosted by the Department for Communities’ (DfC) Historic Environment Division.
This incredible event offered participants the chance to explore the artistry of traditional joinery techniques while learning about the vital role of preserving our historic buildings. From crafting their own door to discovering the significance of heritage skills, the day was packed with inspiration and hands-on learning.
It was a fantastic opportunity not only to learn but also to capture the events on film once again. Our previous visit to the department took place on July 3rd, 2024, where we brought a group of women to try their hand at other incredible heritage skills, including stone carving and lime plastering. The enthusiasm and talent on display during both events was brilliant to see!
