NIRWN in partnership with PL20NI (20 Years of the Polish Community in NI) will be running a five-week programme, 11pm – 1pm in Armagh City and it is free to participate. The venue is still to be chosen but will be accessible to all.

 

Tuesday 4th March 11am – 1pm, Tuesday 18th March, Tuesday 25th March, Tuesday 1st April 11am – 1pm, Tuesday 8th April

 

Topics that will be covered in the sessions include the following:

 

The Polish historical connections to the Island of Ireland, highlighting figures like Constance Markievicz, who was a Polish citizen at the time of her death, Poland’s history during the Second World War, particularly examining the experiences of Polish pilots based in Northern Ireland, Discussion on Polish migration and the factors that have led to Polish people settling in Northern Ireland, Polish language, customs, and cuisine.
