Siobhán continues to lobby about this significant piece of research which was carried out in partnership with Ulster University.  The research found that many women were struggling to cope with increases in the cost of living particularly around the cost of essentials such as food and energy bills.  The report was packed full of quotes from women highlighting these impacts across a range of areas including the ability to meet essential bills, debt, mental health, unpaid care, etc.

Siobhán attended the following events to provide information from this research paper (and other Consortium research where relevant):

  • Presentation for Poverty Data Roundtable event by the Administrative Data Research Centre (ADR) a partnership between Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency
  • Presentation for One Year On: Is the NI Assembly Working for Women? event organised by the Women’s Policy Group and WRDA
  • Meeting with Joseph Rowntree Foundation in NI to discuss Consortium research work in the area of poverty and social security.
