Since it was first published in July 2020, the WPG Feminist Recovery Plan has served as a highly effective lobbying tool and a comprehensive, representative evidence base for the Women’s Policy Group and the women’s sector more generally. Since it was relaunched in July 2021, the Plan has proven to be a living, evolving and adaptive policy document which will inform the work of the women’s sector for years to come.
Between July 2020 and October 2021, the WPG Feminist Recovery Plan has received positive political, community and media engagement, and continues to receive support and recognition at the local, national and international levels.
Despite the strong evidence base provided by the Plan, regarding the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on women, and the existence of widespread gender inequalities in Northern Irish society, the majority of recommendations made in the Plan are outstanding. However, through the continued development and dissemination of the WPG Feminist Recovery Plan, the Women’s Policy Group hope to see more recommendations from the Plan reflected at the policy and legislative levels in the coming months.
