Siobhán continues to work as part of the Working Group for the Cliff Edge Coalition on extending and strengthening the welfare mitigations package in Northern Ireland.  Following the collapse of the Northern Ireland Executive Cliff Edge continue to monitor the progress of the welfare mitigations legislation through the Assembly.  The legislation to extend the Bedroom Tax and the Benefit Cap and close the loopholes has now passed and Cliff Edge are very pleased that these important mitigations have been extended.  Additionally, following an amendment to the legislation the end date for the extension of the Bedroom Tax mitigation has been removed.  Cliff Edge are hoping that the end date for the Benefit Cap mitigation will also be removed.  Siobhán will continue to work as a member of the Cliff Edge working group to push for a strengthening of the mitigations package especially in light of the cost of living crisis.
