The Department of Health is consulting on the Reform of the Adult Social Care System in Northern Ireland. Adult Social Care is a vital part of our Health and Social Care System and impacts on the lives of people across society including people who use social care services, family carers and the people who work in social care.
The pandemic has shone a light on the invaluable role social care plays in people’s lives and the wellbeing of society. It has also revealed the many challenges faced in the provision of adult social care and the need to reform the social care system. Longer term and transformational change is needed to sustain the essential services adult social care provides to people in need and those who care for them.
Siobhán is planning on holding some focus groups around this issue to help formulate the Consortium’s response. If you think you could get a group of women together to discuss this issue please contact Siobhán asap at policy@wsn.org.uk to discuss.
The deadline for responses to this consultation has now been extended to Wednesday 1st June 2022 and it is available here:
