The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee was seeking evidence into the effect of paramilitaries on society in Northern Ireland. The inquiry is looking at the effectiveness of current measures aimed at tackling paramilitarism in Northern Ireland and consider how the UK Government, NI Executive and Irish Government can most effectively work together to remove paramilitarism from society in Northern Ireland.
Siobhán has submitted a Consortium response to this call for evidence which is centred around the issue of paramilitary lending. Siobhán based the evidence to the Committee on the Making Ends Meet report published by the Consortium in February 2020 and included evidence from the soon to be published Women and Debt Consortium research paper.
The Consortium’s submission to the call for evidence is available on the Consortium website here
