The Northern Ireland Policing Board is an independent public body established under the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000. The Board is responsible for securing the maintenance of the police in Northern Ireland and has a key role in ensuring the provision of an effective, efficient, impartial and accountable police service which will enjoy the support of all sections of the community. It consists of both political members and independent members.

They are seeking candidates who can meet the following criteria: Managing and Influencing Relationships; Strategic Focus; Corporate Governance and Organisational Performance; and Organisational leadership.

Board Members will be required to commit to a minimum of four days per month to Policing Board business and to represent the Board at a variety of events.  This will include evening events, weekends and travel throughout Northern Ireland. Members receive an annual remuneration of £15k.

Appointment is for a term of up to four years. The maximum number of terms that Board Members can serve is two.  There is no automatic reappointment to the role and therefore, should Board Members wish to serve a second term, they are required to reapply for the role.
